ROAD TRIP!

Tj and I took a road trip to Texas yesterday....destination Fort Worth.

We saw many a sight through the windsheild of our Chevrolet Tahoe.

Just going through Oklahoma, toward the Texas border, we passed many new casinos on the way. To bad we had the Brats with us, 'cause we definately would have found "reason" to stop in "for a moment or two".

Of course....once we crossed the infamous "Red River", we saw many a Texas barbeque joint, lots of tatoo parlors, a few triple xxx video barns, some lazy long horn cattle laying in the shade, and last but not least....some crrrraaaaazzzzy Texas drivers!

But....besides all of that....what caught our eye the most were some of the names of the small towns........

Destination.......Fort Worth, Texas

Where do you live?

I live in Krum. Krum, Texas.

Where's that?

Well......It's just west of Tidbit. East of Morsel, and a little south of Flake.

I live in Ponder. Ponder, Texas.

Did you say, "Ponder"?

Yes sirree, Bob........Back when the town was first established, it was the Mayor's job to come up with a name for the new town.

Just about every day the townsfolk would come up to him and ask, "Mr. Mayor, have you come up with a name for our new town yet?"

And the Mayor would always look back at them with a blank stare on his face, and reply to them, "I'ma ponderin' on it......I'ma thinkin'. "

Weeks and weeks had gone by with many attempts, to get the Mayor to come to a decision and decide on a name for their new town.

Every time someone would ask him "the question".......He'd give them the same answer...." I'ma ponderin'.....I'ma ponderin'."

Finally, after always getting that same answer and that dumbfounded blank look from the Mayor,the townsfolk came to a decision.

The townsfolk declared that the Mayor had decided on the name of "Ponder" for the town.

So Ponder it was........

The Mayor was satisfied with the townsfolk decision and the townsfolk were happy to not have to ever ask the Mayor that question again.

The case was closed. And the Mayor never had to "ponder" on a name for the town again.

Gee....thanks for the history lesson. I'll have to "think" about that one.

Sure 'nuf! Oh....and did I mention, that the Mayor also decided to name his dog "Ponder" too.

Really? Is that close to Flower Mound?

Why yes it is!

The blue mound.

Oh....We don't have one.

DOH!






Well we're back now and had a fun trip. The Brats enjoyed themselves too.

It's good to be home.
