Tony and John, who lived in England, raised this lion cub who they named Christian. Authorities in England told them that they would not be allowed to continue to keep Christian, once he reached maturity.
So being forced to give up their pet, Tony and John decided to release Christian to live as a wild lion in a wildlife sanctuary in Africa.
Tony and John made a return trip to the sanctuary a year later to see Christian, but were told by the lion keepers that Christian would not remember them.
In this footage, a year has passed and it looks like Christian's adapted well to living with a pride of lions, when his old friends, Tony and John, come back to visit him.
Watch closely as Christian approaches them and you can see the look of pure disbelief that dawns on Christian's face, when he gets close enough to recognize his old friends.
As Christian walks towards them, watch as he suddenly acknowledges that it's Tony and John, and then begins to run to them.
Next thing you know, there's a heart warming reunion.
Not long after, members of Christian's pride approach also and even they seem to accept Christian's human friends, as well.
This is a beautiful film.
