As a child.....I always loved watching the Red Skelton Show. You could always count on Mr. Skelton's brilliant talent and humor, either just as being himself or as one of the many fabulous characters that he portrayed. He was an extremely kind hearted and gentle man and it showed. He illuminated his kind self through the television waves, through the family television set, right into your living room.
Red Skelton was a true comic genius and a lovely man.
Red Skelton's "Pledge of Allegiance" was first introduced on the Red Skelton Show on January 14, 1969.
It has since been twice read into the congressional record of The United States and has received numerous awards.
Even though I always watched the Red Skelton Show, I must have missed this one. At the time that this was aired....Our United States soldiers had been and were at war in Vietnam.
Thanks to YouTube and the people who post there....I found this wonderful interpretation of the "Pledge of Allegiance" explained to all of us by Mr Skelton, in his kind and unique way.
Enjoy.....
